Update many tickets at once
Select tickets in a view and change their status, priority, assignee or tags, add a comment or apply a macro.
Select tickets
- Open a view.
- Tick the tickets you want, or tick the header box to select the whole page.
- To go further, choose Select all … tickets in this view. You can select up to 5000 tickets.
When you group a view, you can also select all the tickets of one group on the page.
Bulk edit
With tickets selected, the Bulk edit bar appears.
- Change any of Status, Priority, Type and Assignee. Leave No change for the rest.
- Add tags or Remove tags.
- Add a Comment as a Public reply or Internal note.
- Or choose Apply macro to stage a macro’s changes for every ticket.
- Choose Update to apply.
Up to 100 tickets are updated right away. Larger updates run in the background, with a progress notice. ChaosDesk tells you how many were updated and which ones failed, with the reason.
Good to know
- Bulk comments are posted as written: placeholders in a macro’s comment are not filled in per ticket.
- Some macro actions cannot run in bulk. ChaosDesk lists the ones it skipped.
- Your role needs permission to bulk edit tickets.
More actions
Under More actions you can Merge, Delete or Mark as spam the selected tickets. Deleting can be undone straight away with Undo, or later from Deleted tickets.
