Transfer the account ownership
The account owner manages billing and can delete the workspace. Hand the ownership to another admin when someone leaves.
Every workspace has exactly one account owner. The person who created the workspace is the first owner.
What the owner can do
- Change the plan, seats and payment details. Every admin can see the billing page, but only the owner can change it.
- Delete the workspace. See Cancel your plan or close your workspace.
- Transfer the ownership to another admin.
The owner always stays an active admin. To demote or suspend the owner, transfer the ownership first.
If no owner is recorded, the oldest active admin acts as the owner.
Transfer the ownership
You must be the current owner.
- Make sure the new owner is an admin with a confirmed email address.
- Open Admin Center, Integrations, Account.
- Under Account owner, choose the admin in Transfer ownership to, then Transfer ownership.
- Confirm.
The new owner gets an email with a link, valid for 72 hours. The transfer completes when they choose Accept ownership. Until then, the page shows that the transfer is waiting, and you can choose Cancel transfer. Sending a new offer replaces the previous one.
When the transfer completes:
- the new owner manages billing and can delete the workspace;
- you both stay admins;
- you both get an email, and the change is recorded in the audit log.
You can’t undo a completed transfer yourself. Ask the new owner to transfer it back.
