Group and sort a view
Group tickets by status, priority, group, assignee or a drop-down field, and sort within each group.
Grouping splits a view into sections, for example one per priority, so you see at a glance where the work is.
Set the grouping
- Open the view and choose Edit view. For a shared view, use Admin Center, Business rules, Views.
- Under Group by, pick a field: Status, Priority, Type, Group, Assignee, Requester, Organization, Brand, Ticket form, Ticket status (custom) or one of your drop-down fields.
- Choose the Group order: Ascending or Descending.
- Under Order by, choose how tickets are sorted inside each group.
- Save.
Tickets are grouped first, then sorted within each group.
Work with groups
- Each group header shows its name and ticket count, for example “Priority: Urgent, 4 tickets”.
- Collapse or expand a group with its header.
- Select all the tickets of one group on the page with the group’s checkbox, then use bulk actions.
- Tickets without a value land in their own group, such as Unassigned or No group.
Sort for now
Click a column header to sort the view your way. The view shows “Sorted by” with the field, and Reset to the view’s sort takes you back. This does not change the view for others.
